It depends on so many things - body type, tailoring, style, shoes, etc. Overall, slim cut ankle length pants are attractive on me so I like them. I also love shoes and enjoy showing a nice pair off. But it would be ridiculous for me to assert that one particular style looks good on everyone. To each his or her own.

I admit that as a taller than average woman, I never cared for pants that exposed ankles unless they are capris. I remember wearing ankle length pants as a child (because they didn't make pants that were long enough for tall kids) and was mercilessly ridiculed by some of my fellow classmates.

It's always been a challenge finding pants that go past the ankle and now even more so.
They are only "high waters" if they have a wide leg - yeah, those look bad and are out of proportion. If they are skinny they are "cropped" or ankle pants - I think they look "smart" and better than many capris (shorter and often wider leg).

I've tried on the skinny, leg hugging ankle length type and they look just as bad, if not worse, on me.

I am very conscious of things that don't fit (or I perceive to be not fit) well. Same with muffin tops, lol. If I close the button and there appears to be a muffin top, I don't buy it. (There are pants that make one have muffin tops even if it's their size haha...)

Yes- skinny pants shorten your leg if they are too long and scrunched around your ankle - hence skinny cropped pants right at the ankle (the skinniest part of your leg) do the least "damage" if your legs aren't long.

I do not like ankle pants. I noticed that they are currently on sale at Talbots website. If you love them grab them as I suspect they will be out of style soon.

Despite being a tall woman (5'11), I like the length. What I don't like is the recycled trend of ripped/torn jeans. Didn't like it the first time around; hate it even more this time around.

Nope, disagree.

Capri pants - love them or hate them....

I have big ankles that I don't like so I usually try to avoid showing them.

Very few women look good in them, with very specific types of shoes, and the look should either be exquisitely balanced, or wild. So, hate them too, but with my 5.10 all standard pants look ankle length.

How would you explain that considering every model in the world is at least 5'10?
