I’ve seen these before, but not recently. They look dressy and kind of cool, I think. Its fun to try new things, no?

I have never seen this style before, and I like it. Go for it. Where are you getting your negative information from? So far on this forum this style is positive with the women.

I never notice men's shoes.

I am always astonished when I realize that there are people who DO.

OP, those shoes are perfectly fine ... but honestly, for me, sneakers would be fine too.

Where on earth did you find that "modern survey"? Do you have a link?

I think most women could not care less. If you are clean and well-groomed, who on earth would care that you are wearing monk-strap shoes -- and judge you negatively for it?? (And I guess just as important: why would you want to be with such a person?)

Not with shorts!
I love to see a sharp dressed man! Be sure your comfortable, though.
The only female to worry about turning off is your girlfriend so ask her!

So the consensus so far is that no, you will not become a social pariah for wearing monk strap dress shoes.

For that price, have you looked into companies such as Mezlan?

monk strap is the Continental look, as opposed to British style.
my wife likes it, my son does not, and work does not care at all.

If a woman is turned off because of your monk strap dress shoes, she probably not worth getting romantically involved with.

I always notice a man's shoes but I never heard of a monk strap. I think they are nice, especially the burgundy one.
