Looking to move to NWA. I was curious on the rape statistic in Peas Ridge, it seems awfully high for such a small town. Does anyone have any input?

Yeah, it's the rape capital of the world, haven't you heard?
Jeez, these one-post-wonders need to get a life.

Have to agree with Duke on this one.How many people bother to check the "rape" reports before considering a possible place to live and OP, for your information, Pea Ridge is probably one of the nicest small towns I hv ever seen: close to the busy city and yet very quaint and quiet.

I am a bit perplexed as to why this is something you would be bothering checking. Crime overall maybe, but one form of crime, is there a reason for your concern. Remember no place is perfect except heaven or so we are told.

What are the statistics you saw? Pea Ridge doesn't really have a bad reputation. Perhaps its possible that a few occurrences result in a higher percentage compared to other cities based on a per capita population.

Exactly: a couple of rapes, murders or whatever in a town of maybe 10,000 can set the % up and up some more. People often overlook this. Pea Ridge is as safe as any town in America i am guessing. Maybe even safer. OK, OP tell us more.

Pea Ridge peaked at 7 rapes in 2013 for a population of just over 5K. Mountain Home had 21 rapes in 2013 with a population over 12K.

I'm not surprised. The reception was not exactly warm. Not sure of OP's intent, but obviously did no real research into the topic they raised. Look at the crime stats from CD for your own town and you will see the explosion in petty crimes due to drug addicts and fatherless families(my opinion). Rapes and murder stats seem to vary over time. One rapist could make the stats look real bad.

Sure, all the rapists moved from NYC to Pea Ridge.
