Houses have never stopped selling, but for some months now the number of houses for sale by far outweighs the number of buyers willing and able to buy at current asking prices.

Fort Myers listings are off the charts. Lots of jobs lost and people selling to get out of the area to find work. Prices are falling but its not the bottom yet. I don't think we will see it for about 2 years if not more.

The homes in Punta Gorda that are listed in the price point of $175-$200 [most located in the Deep Creek area of Punta Gorda] are SLOWLY selling but are selling. Same as in Port Charlotte with that price tag. There is just a ridiculous amount of inventory of new & resale homes.

nothing is really selling. its a stalemate as sellers refuse to substantially lower prices but eventually they will have no choice and things will move

We sold our home in Deep Creek last November for $275,000. and I did it on my own. Coldwell Banker did nothing for us. We did hire new agents from Remax and they did a great VT for me. I took the VT and put it up on the free Real Estate sites. I had two serious buyers within two weeks of that VT being put on that site. The first buyer came and still needed to sell his home.
The second one came the next week and we signed contracts that same day.
Both buyers were from NJ too!

Lee County metro area third fastest growing area
27,000 people added to county between July of 2005 and July of 2006. Just because housing is bad doesn't mean the county is losing population.
