Today's the day!

I'm moving from Portland, Oregon to Daytona Beach, Florida in about 8 hours. I'm flying with my cat and renting a car in Orlando. I have a friend from Bisbee, AZ flying and meeting me there. I've got a place to stay in Daytona Beach Shores, but that is only temporary. From there I could go anywhere.

But in the next 8 days, we're gonna check out as many places as we can so i can have a feel for what I want and where I would like to end up in the long term.

I'm gonna be updating this thread on any important things I notice in each of the places I'll be going. Gonna be traveling with a cat, so I'll update on that disaster too.

I'm really excited! Can't wait for my new life in the Sunshine state!

Sounds like a plan! Keep us posted regularly, if possible.

How exciting!! Eight days isn't much time to decide on a long-term location. The weather should be absolutely gorgeous for the next 10 days, with maybe some rain on Tuesday. Please do keep us updated as you go along.

Congratulations on your move! I sincerely wish you all the best.

I'm moving to Florida in a couple days. I've lived in Florida before and I love it there. I've decided that Florida is the best state in the US for me to live. I'm going to buy land, build a house and settle down there.

Please do keep us posted on your move. Have fun in Daytona!

All the best,
Ana

First catastrophe of the move....

They made me take my cat out of his carrier and even though I had him in a harness with a leash, he wiggled out of my hands and got loose in the airport! He made a huge scene and ran under a table and he clawed the crap outta me. I was bleeding and needed 4 bandages. Poor guy, once I grabbed him he was fine, and he hasn't made a peep since, but I'm in Denver now on a layover.

So if you are traveling with a cat, ask for a private room for screening. Don't ever let them tell you to take a cat out of its safe spot and hold it in front of 100's of people. I don't blame him at all for freaking out. Click image for larger version

How do you attach multiple images? It seems to only allow one. Help?
