I like Ohio, beautiful summers and good places to raise kids etc.

Just too far from the ocean and dont like being cold.

Now looking forward to the cold snap leaving as I had the heat on last night.

Many natives here have never seen snow or do you not read much? Many have posted over the years they have lived in Florida and never saw one speck of snow or experienced any winter like many of us have.

My kids friends talk ask about what it is like sledding or making a snowman.

Many tell us they have never been out of Florida.

I will take the heat.

The highlighted sentence is what I was referring to....

It doesn't make any sense.

Makes a ton of sense.

Read-----

Someone mentioned they cannot stand the brutal heat of Florida and wish they were in the cold.

Many who cannot stand the so called brutal heat ( not brutal to me at all here ) desire to be in the cold weather states have never experience being cold let alone in below zero wind chills.

Escaping the heat here and going to the cold is in my opinion since I have experience both is totally insane.

If you had read some only go north to escape the heat here during the summer months to only go north during the summer months to find out humidity can be far worse in many areas outside of Florida.

It's not your point that doesn't make sense...

It's your posts.

I know what you mean about being near the ocean . Not much coastline here but i lived my whole life no more than 15 miles from it. Always had a boat in the salt water. At my new location still less than 40 miles to the ocean.Still have the lot in Florida for the toyhauler. Less than 500' to the Gulf. That must be awful to be a beach person at heart living in Ohio.

Wow. We are looking into Sarasota. Spent yesterday morning in Sarasota looking at houses.

Need to get closer to the ocean now that we have done everything central we wanted to do its time for some daily walks on the ocean along with some shelling!!!

What is Lake Lure, NC like? It used to be popular with South Florida people.

Thanks for all the ideas!

So far it's looking like flee to the nearest mountains or stay along the water hoping for seabreezes.
