Wanting to move from the Florida Treasure Coast after being here 3 years. Looking at areas within an hour of Destin where relatives live. Do dot want beach living. What are so nice places to scout for two retired old timers?

DeFuniak Springs is a small Southern town. It could be perfect for someone who wants a slower pace of life. There are a lot of smaller towns in the region. There is a big military presence with Air Force bases and Navy Bases in NW Florida. If you are retired military or a veteran you might like it quite a bit. If DeFuniak Springs is too small, Ft Walton Beach, Pensalcola or Panama City... More than an hour from Destin another consideration is Tallahassee...nice city... another poster named *TD thinks it is heaven on earth
