Merry Christmas, yesterday (Christmas Eve) we went to the beach with friends and it was warm enough to swim. We ate dinner with friends and sat on their back porch singing and playing guitars.

What Florida things do you do during the holidays?

I think I ran 8 miles or maybe that was yoga on St Pete marina day.

I also go to the beach, or at least try to squeeze an hour or so into the day's plans. I also seek out warm-weather-themed Christmas cards to send to friends, since the overwhelming number of cards featuring snowbound cabins and fireplaces seem totally inappropriate.

Christmas in Florida usually means some time on the beach since most years there are gifts surfing related. We also try to get to Sea World for the Christmas decorations and shows some time in December. Another yearly thing is to go see decorations in a Disney hotel and then to EPCOT for the Candlelight Processional-usually on my birthday which is a week before Christmas..

This year was a little different. We did get to Candlelight and Animal Kingdom Lodge, have the traditional breakfast at home on Christmas morning and then the gift opening. The gift from our sons was painting the house, so before we had Christmas dinner that night we pressure washed the house, all the patios, and drive.
Christmas week we have been painting the house with the kids.

I have to say this is the longest time ever for not having toes in the sand in a new year, but it is too cold right now.

Christmas Day in Florida usually means another boring trip to the Festival Flea Market at Sample Road & The Turnpike in Pompano Beach. Lord knows why I continue to go.
