Gulf Coast is toast, IMO. Can't trust the lakes, either, for a number of reasons. Stick to swimming pools and springs.

That's a bit far for me and the pool is right around the corner and springs about 15-20 minutes away. I wouldn't mind taking a trip over to New Smyrna in October, though. October is Florida's golden month.

Yeah, my point was the OP is making a general statement as if nowhere in Florida is safe to swim.

That's because the toxic green sludge has also affected Atlantic side beaches. Otherwise Gov. Rick Scott would NOT have declared a state of emergency for Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, and other EAST COAST counties.
