It won't matter I doubt it will last. I watched the First day of WrestleMania which had no live audience a few weeks ago and it was clear to me that a Live Audience is required to make it worth watching. Half the wrestles cannot even use their best lines because it requires audience participation to work.

This decision contributes to the stereotypes of Florida.

https://popculture.com/sports/2020/0...med-essential/

Quote:
The former head of the small business administration, Linda stepped down in 2019 in order to join President Donald Trump's re-election campaign. The former wrestling executive that helped build WWE into a massive company had been a member of Trump's cabinet since 2017 but was going to help raise funds for campaign ads. However, there were several users on social media that felt there was a connection. They believed that McMahon's Super PAC's $18.5 million donation to the State of Florida played a role in wrestling becoming an "essential service."
Maybe that played a role?

Another absolutely laughable decision by our Governor Destupidis.

People need think get beyond their narrow thinking, which is usually nothing more than politically motivated.

The term "essential" is not a literal term. Many jobs have been included in this and more are being added all the time. WWE was the first national sports (laughing at sports) institution to apply for and be granted the status to continue shows, AS LONG AS THERE IS NO AUDIENCE. The order opens the way for Ultimate Fighting Championship and other professional sports associations to resume production and live events in Florida, as long as they're done without an audience. We will see more and more of this because 1) People feel that sports (again laughing at sports for the WWE) is a great distraction for people in trying times, 2) If done without a crowd in attendance, can be done relatively safely 3) Is part of restarting the economy, which YES, we will need to do.

There is no conspiracy here. I know most people want to play politics with everything and of course, they all know better than anyone else. The fact remains that MANY sporting leagues have been in talks with leaders to restart their seasons in a SAFE & RESPONSIBLE way. It really is not unreasonable to start expanding the list of industries who can be exempt from stay at home.

If they did not name it "essential" and instead named it "allowed", then people would not have their panties in a wad.

That's great, except when you hear shortly after WWE being named "essential" or "allowed" then the head of WWE, Vince McMahon, gets named to the advisory group that is supposed to re-open the economy, something doesn't sit right with that, politics or not.

I agree in that sports are trying to figure out when and how to re-open. However, given the history of politics on both sides, we can’t help but to make correlations between government decisions and perfectly timed political donations.
