Best for what?
I went to USF, and have done quite well in my career... It is not considered one of "the best" according to most studies, but I made the best out of my time there, and what was provided by the school (which, as with most large universities, is A LOT.)

USNWR says UF is best. That’s generally true, but depends on the specific program.

UF is generally the most highly regarded school overall, but other universities may have individual majors or departments that outrank the individual departments at UF. For example, if you wants a "pedegree" in film, you wouldn't go to UF. You would go to FSU.

Very simple. THERE ARE NONE. Florida colleges are never in the top 20 or 30 of US college lists!

Well considering that the other 30 schools average over $50K a year and are private and of the other state schools UM, UVA, UNC, and a handful of California state schools in the top 30, UF only runs about $6K for in-state tuition. Can't beat the deal!

UF has the highest US News ranking in Florida. It is the #6 national public university and #30 national university overall. It's the most prestigious school in the state with the toughest entrance requirements.

Does that mean you are getting the best education? Well, it depends. Many of the classes are exceptionally large for freshman and sophomores with 500+ student introductory classes. Many of the intro classes are so big they are available online especially in the business school. You may get a more personalized quality education at a small community college and then transfer into UF as a Junior....the so called backdoor to UF.

Outside of STEM, Business or if you are targeting a top graduate program, I'm not sure the school matters that much. A liberal arts degree is still going to struggle to find any job in their field whether they went to UF, UCF, Miami Dade Community College whatever. Crap degrees are crap degrees regardless of school. To make a lot of money out of school, you need STEM or Business degrees.

It really doesn’t even matter for STEM either. Ultimately, NASA and Siemens do not give a rats ass as to whether you graduated from MIT or UCF. You have the accolades and can convince them than you’re worth the plot, you get the job.
This whole “best universities” deal is a joke. You get the same crap wherever you go, as long as the programs are licensed.
