We're open to any part of FL and different types of housing (condo, townhouse, single-family, etc.)
Glad you enjoyed!

Five Points is at the northeast end of Riverside-Avondale and kind of the bohemian neighborhood although it does have an array of amenities more traditionally grounded. As you travel south Riverside becomes more mainstream and the same extends south into Avondale. Neighborhoods like Murray Hill (just north of Avondale) and Brooklyn (other side of I-95 from Five Points) are gaining quite a bit of attraction from new residents looking for a more urban experience. Just north of downtown is Springfield which has long been a popular in-town neighborhood that's walkable and historic.

No, no it does not. Not on any metric. Especially considering what OP is looking for… “upscale” and “URBAN?” That’s the equivalent to saying Orlando and Tampa stack up against Miami.

Come on, Kyle…

OP, what’s your age and interests? That would make recommendations easier and more personalized.

Over 45? Boca, Palm Beach Gardens, possibly Jupiter (if it’s financially feasible), Sarasota.

Believe me when I say it certainly feels it’s that low sometimes in FloriDUH (mostly location dependent), but the truth is, it’s about 30% for 4-year degree attainment or higher.

The only true hipster area is the fairly small Grand Central District west of downtown (SW of Old Northeast) and it hardly holds influence over the area. St Pete is very cultured (especially for FL) and has a vibe more similar to a city in the Mid-Atlantic region than one in FL. Average household income in Old Northeast is over 100K and about 50% of residents hold a four-year degree or higher, which is much higher than average in FL (26%). https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...6FORM%3DHDRSC3

There's not much upscale and/or urban about Orlando or Tampa so not sure where you're getting the high-horse attitude.

If Jacksonville has something equivalent to Winter Park or Hyde Park, I’m not aware of it.

Significantly more than Jacksonville. And yes, Orlando has some urban nodes that Jacksonville has no comparison to. There’s a fairly decent urban footprint in the core areas. Thornton Park, Ivanhoe, South Eola, Eola Heights…

And as the post above mine mentions, there is nothing like Winter Park or Hyde Park in Jacksonville. Jacksonville’s nicer areas are in the far flung suburbs.

Keep in mind I said "a little bit upscale and a little bit urban." If it's too ritzy and fancy I'd probably feel out of place and if it's too "big city" I'd probably feel overwhelmed.

To answer the question about age - I'm turning 40 next month and my husband is 42. We prefer to be around people who are older than us.

If you can handle a small apartment I'd look into Los Olas

Yes, small apartment is fine. I want to make sure I understand the area you're recommending - do you mean just south or east of Ft. Lauderdale city center?
