Right. Cold air intakes (which result in loud roars when at WOT,) sound systems, etc. Kids have always done this, to a varying degree, across all races. I was once into cold air intakes. Used to love Nissan's VQ engine sound without the air filter cover/with open intake. It did nothing for performance, but as a kid, I loved the sound. I eventually grew out of it.

Another slanted, false post. The individuals driving these fart-mobiles are almost always young males, usually Latino or African American. who cares...really I've seen very fast 4 and 6 cylinders, some straight from the factory such as Skylines, WRX's and such...I've seen very slow 8 cylinders straight from the factory - anybody can modify anything including an 8 cylinder Vette - I've seen factory MSeries BMWs run down factory Vettes easily - just depends I suppose ............but the exhaust notes don't bother me I guess.......except with some old guy gunning his old-school Harley with straight pipes and he like the backfire (on purpose).....that's the same as a young driver with a free-flow muffler........or the old white guy that has cherry bombs on his 57............just depends........to each his own.....keep truckin'........I could talk about all of the white guys with their F250s F350s with BullyDogs and their 5 inch exhaust and love to "smoke" (I mean soot-up) cars next to them on launch, "smoke" up Teslas (on purpose)....."smoke up" cyclists (on purpose).....and "smoke up" pedestrians standing on the curb waiting to walk across the intersection (yep, on purpose).........ph well, right?
