Hi Buddy ... just a quick note to mention that my husband and I have just purchased a cul-de-sac lot in Sugarmill Woods ... in the Cypress Village Section ... we plan to relocate there from New Jersey, when the time is right ... we will look forward to learning much more about the area as you are ... this forum looks wonderful ... I think we can all learn alot from the people in here ... good luck ... Jo Anne

If you check the thread, Need infor on Homosassa Springs, there is alot of infor on Sugarmill Farms. Also if you go to the top taskbar, click search and type in Sugarmill Woods, it will show you every thread that mentions it. I did it and it came up quite a few times. Hope this helps.

Cat, thank you so much for the info about how to easily find info on the area you're interested in. I didn't realize that.

Default Jammie

You're welcome. Found it by accident one day. One tip though. Let's say you want to look for "jobs in Ocala" be forwarned that any thread that mentions jobs and/or Ocala will come up, even some from other state threads. So try and limit what words you use in your search.

Have a good one.

Default Sugar Mill Woods

I own 3 building lots in Sugar Mill Woods all side by side. This is a wonderful area of FL. I had planned to move there and building on a double lot & selling the other, but family obligations changed our plans. Great community, good golf and water sports, green belt behind each lot, and 55 minutes to Tampa for big time entertainment or a little longer to Disney.I may sell my lots as I have to stay in the St. Lucie County area. It is nice to live in a pleasant area and be a drive to all you want to see. Rudy

I guess if you like very strict HOA rules and regulations it's the place to be but i live in Citrus County and there are many other nice places with less restrictive issues. A friend of ours gets fined if his grass has brown spots on it within site of the roadway even though we're in a drought. From the stories i hear from people trying to get out of there, it doesn't sound like home sweet home to me. I wouldn't limit yourself to just Sugarmill woods. There's a lot of nice communities all around.

i think i traveled through on my way to a seafood festival in homosassa and it wasnt for me because it seemed pretty darn rural, not tropical and sort of undeveloped. that is just my personal taste (i love palm trees and congestion!)

be careful of the sinkholes in Sugarmill Woods. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there have been issues with them.
