I just got a great deal, my HOI dropped $600.00 and now I'm paying property taxes on $49K
My mortgage will go down about $100.00, six years to go @ $800 per month and I can retire. Yearly taxes now $583.59 from $945.00
I just had a friend appraised the house and the sale price is $225K according to sales and depreciation..
Anyone else getting any savings....

Congrats! Great News! ! That has to be a good feeling.
I think that insurance companies are feeling the revenue strain, and need to get more competative in order to generate and keep the revenue streams they have. That is one thing that is good. Other insurance companies will / must be planning to enter the Florida market, and they are preparing for that by dropping the rates - to keep client loyalty.
I am a little surprised to see that happen before the hurricane season ends though.

Too bad this will not happen to anyone who has bought/built a home in the last few years. The only way to level the market is a hard, drastic crash. Otherwise you will pay over 4,000.00 a year on that 250K home (250K-50K exemption).

Great news Sunrico!!
This year my HOI went from $2500.00 to $1300.00, & I'm waiting to see what my taxes will be in October...they're supposed to go down from what I've read....
I also shopped around for car insurance & my rate went from $1800.00 a year for 2 vehicles down to $846.00 for 2 vehicles per year!!!

superb rate per year, I pay $900 plus for 3 cars with full coverage every six months (USAA) and Progressive could not provide a better rate, but I'm still looking. BTW no tickets ever (wife or myself) the rate is for a 07 Malibu Maxx, 05 Mountaineer, and 02 325 BMW.
