There are far more transients here, than you'll find in the Midwest. Far more. Consider the implications.

For one thing...I was NOT trying to post negative crap about Florida!!!
I was just trying to give a heads up to people who maybe have NOT thought about this sort of thing!! Some people usually don't think about this and I think its a safety issue.
Yes, there are numerous other states that have these creeps...but I was just wanting to remind those that are moving here to check out that registry first.
I was not saying that Florida was full of perverts!!

For the record, I have no problems with Florida and have no plans of moving out of here.

Beckerd,
Thank you for the heads up. I, for one, appreciate the fact that you brought this up. Unfortunately, this is the reality of our world, and regardless of where we choose to live, it's important to keep our children safe. I bookmarked that website for future reference.

I really feel that all mean well here, it is possible that the initial poster came from NY or somewhere like NY that sends home pics and addy's of all registered sex offenders in its school district to keep families informed. I appreciate the heads up, as I a mother of five is considering moving closer to family in Florida and I would not have know this information. Important to be open minded, this is about safety and how maybe your beautiful state can improve and update. Life is about understanding and growth right??

There are levels of offenders. The only thing you can do is pick an area with "less dangerous" ones and deal with it.
Exactly. Also a guy who decides to pull over on the Interstate and discretely pee in the middle of the night will be labeled a sex offender.

And there are no more sex offenders in Florida than any other state as a ratio to population, we just are more aggressive about making them register.
