Apples and oranges. As you say, LI isn't NYC -- conditions are very different.

I went all around today and it felt NOTHING like Naples's 90s and humidity. My older daughter lives on the South Shore walking distance to the ocean. Nice breeze, unlike Naples "Gulf Breezes".
To be completely honest, and in the interest of full disclosure, you should let people know that while winter temperatures in the entire metro NYC area are moderated by the surrounding waters (with 'moderated' being a relative term), the temps along the shores of LI Sound tend to be significantly cooler in the summer than the temps in the five boroughs of NYC, and the surrounding areas in northern NJ, especially when that offshore breeze kicks in.

That 'nice breeze' you felt yesterday on LI was a hot wind in midtown Bayonne (SW of NYC, north of Staten Island, east of Newark, west of Brooklyn), with a heat index of over 100. Our Bassets, who love lying in the sun no matter how hot it is (to our consternation) didn't even want to go out into the back yard.

I do understand.

Do you understand that some people cannot physically take the cold? That it causes a large degree of pain, in some cases unbearable pain that can only be relieved by surgery that may or may not give relief? Have you ever been through a winter up north? If you haven't, please, don't tell me that it's better to live a winter here than a summer in Florida.

From western Massachusetts, Went through 25 winters, I know what cold is. I also know what arthritis is, and how cold effects joints. Heat is dangerous too though...

Well, am I not working on a property which is a peace of real estate? My job is located under real estate when searched. Not a real estate agent, glad I'm not in this economy either.

it is year round in Florida whereas up North it was only in Spring and Summer. Dermatologist told me to stay out of the SUN. Now how do I do that in FLORIDA? By last Fall, they almost covered my entire body. How about that? I could not bend my arms or legs without being in extreme pain because I was almost completely covered with this. Think that was FUN????

YES, for ME it IS better winter up NORTH and I lived in cold, snow, and many blizzards for 58 years.

Florida isn't better for EVERYONE. Sorry, REAL ESTATE agents. You only talk about people's problems with winters, not those with SUMMER problems.

Sorry, I cannot sympathize with your winter physical problems because I have my own SUMMER physical problems.

I get prickly heat EVERY day out here, and every day I shave my face burns, and gets red spots from the sweat, ya wonderful. Also it wears me out to the point that at about 3 every afternoon I am so tired and wasted from the heat I am not work worthy..... Up north I worked fast and harder to keep warm. I also didn't work outside up north.

Under your definition a clerk at 7-11 works in real estate since they work in a building that is a piece of real estate, got it.

I was curious so I searched for maintenance jobs under the job category real estate on hot jobs and came up with nothing.
maintenance jobs in Tampa, FL - Yahoo! Hotjobs (http://hotjobs.yahoo.com/job-search;_ylt=AiP3rZL45AYmctkS.6DfOsPaRaIX?locations =Tampa,%20FL,%20USA&industry=RLE&commitment=FT&com mitment=PT&jobtype=PERM&jobtype=CONT&kw=maintenanc e& - broken link)
