Came into work this morning to have my mgr. show me a rather large (seven foot long) BOA Constrictor that he had pulled out of our pool system.

Apparently it got sucked in and almost went through the filter/pipes...yuk!

Always nice to see pets allowed to run free when the owners can't be responsible...

Well they are trying to pass a law now that people who own these type of critters (large snakes and lizards too) have to get a permit and register them maybe making them a little more responsible rather than letting them run wild when they get too big.

When I was little, my parents asked me to clean out the pool filter once. So I lifted up the round lid and in pool filter were like 6 or more small young snakes. I jump so high and ran into the house screaming, my parents thought I had been hurt. So now I find a long stick to lift the lid with first.

But wow a Boa is even scarier, we are having a problem with them out in Everglades National Park. People dump them when they get to big to keep, they then breed and are starting to upset the eco system out there they say. The same thing is happening with Iguanas here in Miami and The Keys.
