I was perusing my cook books the other day and thought it was time for a new one, so i hit my used book store and picked up a 1961 edition of larousse gastronomique for 2 dollars, i am in hog heaven!!!! 8500 recipes!!! cant wait to dig in!!A lot of it is french cuisine, i am all giggly!!!

Can I come over, I make an excellent "taster" especially for French food !! No charge for my services, and I am perfectly house trained too...

I don't like books so big they make my lap hurt! My mother in law likes to give me fancy cookbooks like that.. I think she has them in mind as coffee table books.

The "Joy of Cooking" was always in my Mom's kitchen. I should probably find a copy.

I'd also like to find some of Julia Child's books.

My Mom's book looked most like this:
