Do you remember the lemon-lime soda called "Wink?" It was lemon-lime, but more flavorful and bitey-tasting lol. It was GREAT with gin in it.

Do you know of any similar soda still sold nowadays?

thanx

Is Squirt like Wink?

I'd try that or Sun Drop first.

I have no taste buds, so many of those sodas taste the same to me. I taste no distinction between Mountain Dew, Mello Yello, Vault, or any of their generic knockoffs.

Personally, I remember it as a grapefruit soda, a bit tarter than lemon-lime sodas. It was (and is) made by Canada Dry.

WOW - i never, ever remember any Wink soda i drank saying grapefruit on it!! I wish they still made it. I will try the alternatives.

(edited to add: I see a poster says it's still made - i dont think we get it here.. i will check more. I had Googled it and it said "sodas that are no longer made.")

Well, someone is making it, because Amazon is selling it:
Wink 12ct: Amazon.com: Grocery & Gourmet Food (http://www.amazon.com/Wink-12ct/dp/B00168A9M4 - broken link) but they are totally crazy with the shipping cost!

You might want to try this:

Yes Wink is still around.

The shipping cost is on target for the weight. I have soft drinks shipped to me sometimes and it's what the cost is. It's a lot of weight for a case of drinks. I guess people expect stuff for free.

Well, you are right, a case of Wink soda is surely heavy. But the S&H cost more than the soda, and $5.40 per 32 oz soda is just a bit pricey.

I would try diet Sundrop. Regular Sundrop is too sweet to be like Wink.

Have you tried Fresca? It's my favorite and it mixes well with alcohol
