Try ethnic stores, like Mediterranean kind of food. After you get it , clone it yourself.
You can add 2-3 tablespoon of the yogurt to plain whole milk, or just fill the yogurt container with fresh milk after you finish your yogurt ( do not wash it). Leave on the kitchen counter for a day or two, for the yogurt bacteria to multiplier, then keep in the fridge. You can repeat it so many times you want.
You can do it the easy way ( see above) or make it more complicated and follow this instruction. How to Make Yogurt - Step-by-Step Guide with Pictures
or this: http://life.salon.com/2011/01/08/how_to_make_yogurt/ however I never heat the milk, just leave it ( covered with a clean kitchen cloth) on the kitchen counter. If you are using a RAW milk, you might have to heat it first.
Its way cheaper that way!
You can do the same with kefir

BTW: most grocery stores carry it: please check in a dairy section where all flavored yogurts are. Plain yogurt is usually in a bigger, plastic container.

Stonyfield is the only whole-milk plain yogurt I know of that's commonly on the grocery store shelves. And you have to hunt for it.

If you were in Oregon I'd tell you to go find Nancy's. It's in all the grocery stores here and it's really good. Nancy's Organic Whole Milk Yogurt - Nancy's Cultured Dairy and Soy

I notice it is common in "higher end" groceries. For example, it is at most local Safeways, but not typically at Foods Co or Lucky.

My favorite is Brown Cow, there's a layer of cream on the top. Yummy.

Are some of the greek yogurts made with whole milk? Seems like they have a high fat content when I look at the back of the container, but can't remember if it said whole milk. The 1 % I get is pretty darn creamy and no hormones--I think Stonyfield.
