My sister in law has asked me for advice on a new range for a kitchen remodel. She does not do fancy cooking or entertain large groups. She mostly does family meals for herself and her husband.
Gas is not an option.
She wants a 30 inch slide in, stainless steel finish.
She does not need an oven with a temp probe. She rarely cooks meat in the oven. Her DH, my brother, grills most everything year round. She does like the idea of convection and a warming drawer.
She uses cast iron a lot on the cook top. She is concerned about the durability of a glass top with the cast iron.
A warming area on the cook top would be nice but not necessary.
I am posting here rather than in the House Forum because I am interested in what the real cooks like and dislike about their ranges. This is a working kitchen, not just for show.
