Fear not. Your Whopper is not made of horse, Burger King said Friday, amid reports that beef from one of the chain’s European suppliers was tainted with horse meat.
A Whopper made partially or entirely out of horse meat would actually be very tasty but since eating horse isn't politically correct I'll have to be satisfied with cow.

This reminds me of a case several decades ago when "Jack In The Box" was caught putting Kangaroo meat in their burgers.
Fast food can be pretty bad and I just don't trust them anymore. The last few times I ate at McDonald's I felt sick to my stomach shortly after eating. I try to never eat at any chain after I have a bad experience or if I read stories like this.
I cross the place right off my list and then I try to never go back. (Notice I used the word "Try")
Unless the menu says 100% beef, the patty can be made of anything. 100% beef does not have to be muscle meat. Cheeks, rectums, and spleens are also "beef".
I doubt that a burger place is going to cut their beef with something that costs more than beef, and horse meat is not cheap. I also doubt that they would risk it because a lot of people are severely allergic to horses and they would have enormous financial risk by giving a food allergen that could cause anaphilactic shock without identifying it.

First of all a European supplier isn't America and what they do is not our concern or should not be. I am glad the spoke up, too often we are all to quick to jump...

^^Spot on answer
But regardless, in some other countries eating horse meat is not frowned upon. Someone mentioned Kangaroo meat, which is also not taboo like was implied. In fact, there is a store here (in Philly) that sells Kangaroo meat. Obviously not telling people what is in there food isn't right but I would be more concerned about the additives and chemicals they are not telling you about then if they're cutting your beef with another legit protein source.
