So far by the dozen jars over the course of a month=
jars of lemons
jars of salsa
jars corn relish
jars of pickled cucumbers sweet and the sour varieties
last night plums
Next comes the jams/chutneys and jellies
My teenage daughters love to participate in the process.
between pickling with my daughter and by myself I guess we have done about 50 or more jars. Together and with the help of one of my granddaughters we have done:
pickles
salsa
beans
beets
tomatillo sauce
Our pickles this year, for the first time in years are: awful!!!!!!
By myself I have done:
asparagus
okra
dill relish
I do think we are through for the this year except to do about a dozen or so more jars of salsa
i did all the sterilization of the jars and lids while the kids did the cooking part of the recipe it involved
ginger
cinnamon sticks
cloves
red chilli peppers
nutmeg
brown sugar
cider vinegar
orange peel
5lbs of blue plums
everything but the plums and the juice gets taken out before jarring.

I surmise the making of preserves is a lost past time .
No it is no
My one attempt on peach preserves this year (see CD) turned into a great and requested crepe filling; did black grapes and plumbs/blueberries as well.
We planted our tiny herb/veggie garden too late. Moving. A couple of batches of store bought jalapeños are in the pantry. Yard long beans are just coming in.
Just kidding -- I don't drink (except for the occasional glass of champagne).
[i] do and I am sure mine is, but it isn't in a jar waiting to do eaten.
