I'm eating Ricola sugar free cough drops and I'm trying to figure out what actually forms the structure of the mint. Obviously not sugar. The first ingredient listed is aspartame but it can't possibly be present in the amount needed to form the bulk of the candy. What is this mystery glassy substance?
