Just realised its Pancake Day (realised after I got back from the shop ) so what do you like to put on your pancakes? And do you prefer the thinner crepe style or the thicker American style?

I like to alternate between putting fresh lemon juice and sugar on them, or then golden syrup. Occasionally maple syrup. And though I grew up eating thinner English pancakes I prefer the thicker American style now, made with buttermilk MMMMM

Omg I've been craving pancakes....
I haven't had them in months

I make them homemade, fantastic recipe-
then I throw in sliced bananas
or fresh blueberries.
Banana pancakes w/ butter pecan syrup-
my weakness
Blueberry pancakes, with cinnamon maple syrup is almost as tempting....

It's always pancake day in our home no matter which meal we are having.
I make Buttermilk Pancakes, real maple syrup, real butter, between thin and thick and plenty of leftovers to eat cold later.
Sometimes I scramble eggs and make bacon as well but it depends on how hungry we are when deciding what to add to our meal.

Also love the photo of the Bunny with a pancake on it's head.

It is CRUEL of you to tell us you have a "fantastic recipe" WITHOUT POSTING IT!!

This thread has me craving pancakes something fierce!! Banana/strawberry/blueberry, anyone? (And if so, can you give me a recipe for that?!!)

I make my own mix (not fantastic, just an ordinary mix that can also be used for waffles and muffins) and make BLUEBERRY PANCAKES with real maple syrup.

I only use the small berries, the kind you pick wild if you can find them. Last summer I went to a blueberry farm on a mountain in New Hampshire and bought a 20 pound box of them, frozen. Absolutely great.

Growing up in Ireland all I ever had was crepe pancakes, I hate the American style. Too "cakey" for me. Im a traditionalist, either honey or raspberry jam on mine. Sometimes treacle or brown sugar though.
