The only one I know of is the southern tradition of eating black eyed peas on New Years Day. I have family in AL who follow the tradition every year, they seem pretty happy/prosperous but I don't know if that has more to do with planning or peas.
Happy New Year!

The peas are for coin money and good luck. The greens are for different dollar denominations. Based on last year, I plan to stuff in all of the greens I can.

Black eye peas and from my Spanish side, 12 grapes at midnight. Don't always have the grapes but always have black eye pea fritters.

Well, now you have! We always had to have pickeled herring on NYE - started with my grandparents, who were German, don't know if it's a German tradition or just a family one, but gotta have the pickled herring!
