Chicken w/ stuffing, mashed potatoes w/gravy, grainy cranberry walnut bread, corn, broccoli w/ cream sauce & cheese. Dessert is white/chocolate cake w/ custard filling. I don't like the traditional foods at all.

Thanksgiving will be DH and I at home. Roasted duck, raw brussel sprout salad and gruyere mashed potatoes. Probably throw in some inexpensive sparkling wine, and still unsure about a dessert item.

DH will love my food, as always.
Sounds like you need to take some wine with you

I'm going to make it easy on myself this year because family is not going to come in until the Christmas holidays, so it's going to be just me and my twenty-somethings children, who won't be joining me until later in the evening. So, I'll put just a turkey breast in the crockpot in the morning, make both a praline pumpkin, and a chocolate pie for dessert, potatoes au gratin, a bottle of Biltmore white wine, and The Pioneer woman's cranberry sauce, which I started making last year. You use baked fresh cranberries, orange marmalade, and toasted pecans - really good, not too sweet, not too tart. While the Turkey slow cooks, I'll light some candles, listen to classic "geezer" rock, and work on my Christmas crafts/gifts. And be thankful.

Ham
Turkey
Dressing
Mashed potatoes
Whipped candied yams
Broccoli with burnt butter sauce
Homemade cranberry sauce
Ambrosia
Rolls
Pumpkin and pecan pies from Costco

Think I'm missing something but not sure ... husband is the cook, not me.

Yummy food but I'm still not in the mood for a houseful. Am running out of time to pull out of it.

We're not big turkey eaters, so we always have something else on the menu. This year we're have the following:

roast beef
gravy made from the roast drippings
ahi poke and/or sashimi
rice
mashed potatoes
Hawaiian sweet rolls
fresh pico de gallo with corn tortillas
string beans
a salad loaded with organic goodies
pumpkin pie (cannot find any sweet potato pies)
malasadas

beer, red and white wine

I thought that it was more than OK when we had lobster last year.

Just curious.. I've never served so many! How many pounds of potatoes, peas, green beans do you do? I always get the meat portion more or less right, but make too much of the side dishes. (Probably because I prefer the sides and am totally self-absorbed .)
