I knew this was coming, I've been hearing stories about it. It doesn't really bother me, there are dozens of family-style restaurants at Disney. Disney isn't just about kids, a lot of adults go there without kids on vacation; honeymooners, childless couples, retirees etc. In fact, I am taking my two teenagers to Disney this May, and leaving our 4 year old behind with my husband. We just don't want to have to drag our 4 year old along everywhere, and he really wouldn't enjoy much at Disney anyway. He won't even sit in one of those cars outside stores where you insert .50 cents to make them ride up and down, he's too afraid. For Christmas we got him a battery powered ride on tractor, but he's too afraid to ride that, too. The first time we took our older kids to Disney they were 10 and 11, they were old enough to ride all the rides, behave in restaurants, and not get too tired.
It only makes sense. The Disney cruise line has an adults only restaurant and the spa is adult only and one of the pools and the hot tubs at that end are also adults only.
I thought this was a good idea, myself. I like Disney World, and relish being able to eat a relaxed meal without little ones, especially unhappy little ones.
Someone on TV was complaining about not having a babysitter in tow at Disney, but a lot of the major Disney resort hotels, and even their competitors, offer babysitting services. So, a meal out for just the grownups should be within reach.
Even though I have children, I realize there's a time and place for them to be, and a time and place for them NOT to be. That restaurant is the latter, and I agree with Disney's new policy. There are about 10,342 other restaurants you could go to and several upscale ones at that.
A restaurant without screaming & annoying kids is my kind of place. I would never go to a disney restaurant cause they are crooks but i would go to some others.

Even parents need an occasional quiet night out. If you are paying a sitter so you can enjoy a nice evening with your spouse you don't want it spoiled because someone else brought their noisy kids.
There are plenty of family restaurants. I would support an adults-only restaurant, not just at Disney but anywhere.
This thread is ancient. But since it's been topped, I will say that as a childless adult, were I seeking a quiet night out with adults, the last place I'd go would be DISNEYWORLD. Yeah, not everyone who goes to Disney is a kid or is with kids...but it's probably a good idea to be TOLERANT of kids' presence when you visit Disneyworld. Nobody goes to a ball game and gets irritated at all the sports fans there.
