I saw this today and the one that jumped out at me was the onion thing. Apparently, if you cut off the ends of the onion and nuke it for 30 seconds, most of the onion gas that makes you cry when you cut it will have been sucked out by the microwave. Even if you don't believe that, there are some other cool things to learn here:

I just chop my onions under my range hood....the vent sucks up all the "crying droplets!"
