no, take a roaster chicken, season it, and put it on a bed of root veggies that have been chopped large, salted, and optionally seasoned with parsley etc. Usually potatoes, onions, and carrots ..... I haven't actually tried turnips, but they should work well in there. bake at .... oh, I suppose 425f. Root veggies like a high heat. The chicken juices run down over the veggies, and it's very good.
This does sound good. I'm fine with potatoes, onions, and carrots with the chicken on top. No turnips necessary. Yum.
Oh, another one I hate: watermelon. Can't even stand the smell of that stuff. Tried it once at a friend's house when I was a little kid, never touched it again. Icky stuff!!!
I like to try things, but this durian stuff--which I never heard of outside of City-Data--sounds so incredibly disgusting that there's no way I WANT to try it now. Something that everyone claims smells like punky feet--yeah, I'm gonna put that in my mouth? I think not.
This fruit, specifically, is native to a country where my husband is periodically sent for work. Per him, it smells horrible, tastes fine.

A lot of great cheeses smell horribly pungent but taste great. Durian has been referred to as akin to stinky cheese.
Along the same lines and to the original post, ripe papaya smells like straight-up vomit. I can't deal with it! (unless it's hidden among other fruits in a smoothie or something)
Green papaya is awesome, and so are the papaya seeds, but no way to the ripe stuff.

True also.
The sour smell of some strong cheeses is offputting, yet, they taste great.
Much in the same way I'll eat a tuna salad sandwich, even though opening the can or pouch is akin to handling catfood.
