I have a pretty even distribution between beef, pork, and chicken. It's all good!!

Right now, I am pretty much at 60% pork, 30% beef, and 10% chicken. When I was in Chicago, I would add in lamb and goat and eat about 40% pork,

I would like to eat more beef BUT being in the Southwest, the quality is generally not all that good. And it is difficult to pass up pork when you can buy a butt for $0.99 and a boneless pork loin for $1.69.

It is funny. I hated pork as a kid.

I have it on the menu for me once a week. My husband cannot eat beef or his gout flares up. He can eat fish and chicken or turkey without a problem.

Not as much as I used to, maybe twice a week. The only time I ever felt like I ate too much beef was after several visits to a Brazilian steakhouse. I ate till I was stuffed....and I haven't been back since the 3rd time. But I'm really looking forward to fall/winter when I start cooking roasts again.

About once every three weeks I have a What-aBurger, and that's about it. I never buy beef muscle-meat, but i eat a lot of beef heart and beef liver -- one of those at least twice a week.

I don't have any opinion on the comparative health of different kinds of meat, I just by the most economically priced meat. My meat consumption is pretty much limited to beef and chicken organs, pork roast, and an occasional sausage of some type. Also fish, either canned sardines or mackerel, or pieces of catfish, one of my few expensive splurges. I ordinarily limit myself to about 2-3 ounces of meat a day. I supplement meat with a lot of beans.

We do steaks every few weeks. Other than that, eh. Not so much at home. We live in a big BBQ city, so we're more likely to get it when we dine out (brisket and burnt ends are big, here), and not so much at home. I eat beef often enough, I just don't cook it at home all that often.

Other than the occasional burger, I'd say 6 or 7 times a YEAR.
