We do the annual community party in our yard and take care of the 'stuff' in our kitchen. In prior years, we order pizza, but this year I'm going to add hot dogs.

We get about 100-120 people. I'm going to assume that half will eat a hot dog (remember - there's pizza, too). If I want to cook 60 hot dogs of the Costco size, how many do you think will fit in my 6 quart Instant Pot?

All of them. You can fit 60 hot dogs in a 6-quart slow cooker.

according to:

If you use a 6 quart crockpot you can easily use 64 hot dogs.

Aren't Costco hot dogs 1/4 pound each?

Depends on the hotdog. Regular, foot long or belly busters!

Only one way to find the true answer, and it's quite easy.

I've seen lots of exploded, nasty hot dogs in the Instant Pot group on FB. I think borrowing a crock pot or a roaster oven to com then would be a safer choice.

Well, hot dogs are probably the same density as water, near enough for this purpose. So if each hot dog weighs 1/4 lb uncooked, that's 4 oz. For these purposes, a fluid oz. of water weighs (approximately, but close enough) one avoirdupois ounce, so each weiner occupies 4 oz. of volume. 6 quarts is 6 x 32 oz of volume = 192 oz. of volume. So you ought to be able to fit 192/4 = 48 wieners into a 6 quart volume. Realistically you don't want to cram them in there as hard as you can so 36 or so is probably the max. realistic number.

Measure the dogs and the pot, allowing for head room and wiggle room, then do the calculation.
