I have some great ripe heirloom tomatoes in my garden. Tonight, I made BLTs. It is a summer treat...one I will dream about this winter when the snow is flying.
Great bread, home made mayo, ripe tomatoes from the garden, crisp lettuce and a bit of salt and pepper...and of course, the star of the show, smoked bacon.
Thank you Sheena and Alm.❤️ I don't know who the third rep was from, but thank you too. Sheena, anytime you're near Tulsa, you're most welcome to come, and I'll surely have that shot with you!
Tuesday: I'm early I know, but I can't turn my mind off. I would have been celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary. I'm going to make a crock pot of homemade pasta fagioli, and some warm crusty bread with seasoned olive oil. I've bought a bottle of johnnie walker black (his favorite). I'm opening that and having a shot or 2. I'm buying myself a shimmering bauble, and quite possibly a piece of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory!
{{{You}}} I wouldn't be able to turn my mind off, either. <3
Dinner tonight was spaghetti with meat sauce. DH used some tomatoes and sweet Italian peppers from the garden. So good! Fresh peach for dessert.
I'm making a beef stew in the slow cooker with all the typical veggies: (onions, potatoes, carrots, celery and garlic.) I also add a little jalapeño for some heat and maybe a bay leaf for extra flavor. Salt, pepper, and a few other spices and that's it. I try not to use too much extra broth because I like a drier stew so I can scoop it up with tortillas and eat it that way.
Sounds awesome! Cal-Mex is the best, you're making me homesick.
I had a lean cuisine tonight, and hubs had the last two Italian sausages wrapped in flour tortillas with spicy brown mustard (Italian-German-Tex??). 😉
