THURSDAY: DS has to help with cooking for a little bit. Today we are browning center cut pork chops in a small amount EVOO. In the crock pot while they are browning we put 2 bags of refrigerated sauerkraut and cut up white onion. Add 1 can brown gravy and 1 cup of boiling water with 1 tbsp of ketchup and the ban drippings from the frying pan. Cook on high for 6 hours. Served with mashed potatoes. This was my Dad's recipe and I grew up on this. Cherry Pie a la mode for dessert.

after a less than good nights sleep the night before last and helping to do 30 jars of salsa yesterday I was too tired to even think about eating last night, plus we girls all went out for a late lunch. So I did roast the ribs yesterday but we will have them tonight. I am making a combination veggie salad using the little bit of asparagus, okra, and broccoli I have left, plus a couple of tomatoes from the garden. Last night, spoiled brat had a couple of bowls of chili from the freezer and a tortilla topped with melted cheese.

Spaghetti and meat sauce that I have thawing, garlic bread, and a wedge salad. I made some creamy roasted garlic salad dressing for husband (his favorite) so he can have that on his salad. Glad I've been freezing things in servings for 2 - we won't have leftovers. Well, except for the spaghetti - and I think I'll use that to try the baked spaghetti thing my grandpa used to make that I've been trying to duplicate without success for YEARS - I have to give it another shot. It's been awhile!

House guests are back tonight after spending a few days in the mountains. We'll be having grilled salmon, chicken cutlets with sage, roasted potatoes with fresh rosemary, steamed broccoli, and a quinoa salad. If we feel like we need a dessert, hubby will bake this chocolate bomb thing that will go together very quickly after dinner.

You should not laugh at this! Your body is telling you that you need dessert! Like Chocolate Cake. Or Chocolate Mousse. Or Chocolate Mousse Filled Cake! I have learned to "listen" to what my body tells me it needs - right now, it's saying, "Feed me Chocolate." It's probably going to tell me to drink some wine in a few hours - I intend to listen to it then, too! (I'm a-scared of what it might do if it turns against me.)
