Are you speaking philosophically or nutritionally?
Nutritionally, it was a portion of a salad: romaine, cucumber, sunflower seeds, canned tomatoes, avocado, olives, feta, parmesan, croutons, garlic pepper. Water, vitamins.
Philosophically, well, that's bit more complex. I had a rather full meal during the day of a brisket submarine and wine, so I wasn't that hungry when I got up for work. I had, however, noted in my diary that I would have a salad today, so I had to fulfill that commitment. So made a salad and had a little bit of it. Since most of the salad was going in the refrigerator, I had to make this one without canned fish. Further, I bought a cucumber on Thursday but I have a habit of letting them go to rot. So that would not happen, I used that in the salad (and another section for cucumber water) so at least some of it ended up used.
Does eating have to be so complicated? Well, just ask The Doctor.

Oh, philosophically!
Then we are going to lunch. (from Doctor Who: City of Death)
