A friend brought in some homemade apple chips the other day - they were fantastic!


I told my husband and he said maybe we should get one to make our own (and he wants to make beef jerky).


So I've been reading reviews online. My friend said she had the el-cheapo Walmart one (a Presto). But I'm curious, do you have one?


What brand?


What do you like/not like about it?


What are your favorite recipes?

I have an old Sweda I have had since the late 80's. Every hunter and fisherman eats jerky, right? I don't think they make that brand and model anymore, but I'm not sure. It has been a very good one and has served me for many years.

Pretty much any recipe that has garlic powder, black pepper, onion powder, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce etc....is going to be a good one.

I got an old round ronco one somewhere,,, I like the banana and apple chips..

I got it mostly for beef jerky ..

and it is good!!
