She's been too lazy to cook lately.
I'm assuming that you've been working or otherwise aren't the best cook, which is why you expected the wife to cook?

That's the truth. I second what Praline said, completely.

I do not cook! I worked to put food on the table, but since retiring, hardly any home cooking is done anymore! Her fingers are quick to order out for our meals lately since I'm still paying for it!

Earlier tonight I prepared and enjoyed soft steak tacos. Marinated the steak in advance and added onion, lettuce and green peppers in the tortillas & a small amount of sour cream and taco sauce (don't like guacamole). Enjoyed raspberries in yogurt for dessert.

Maybe she wants to retire, too? You might find you enjoy cooking. I think it's a lot of fun -- usually. There are days....

You two could sign up for a cooking class together and try something new and get a date and meal out of it.

Good to see YOU. Jr. P is unfortunately worse than ever. We are beside ourselves with grief and worry. It's tough to be powerless to help him. Crazy amounts of stress and other bad things to deal with. Thanks for asking! I hope all is well with you and yours. Update when you can.

Tonight, we are having leftovers of sauteed broccoli, onion, chicken breast and loaded smashed potatoes without skins.
There are no words to describe how all of us hear feel. All we can do is pray for healing and keep a positive thought if that will help. Keep us up to date when you can and when you feel like it.

I am brining some pork chops. Since its a rainy dreary day I think I will just cook them on the grill pan. The husband went shopping and picked up fresh basil, a variety of different colored small tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and some kind of fancy croutons. He said he is making a salad tonight. He also is making a dressing out of the buckwheat honey I bought at the farmer's market. He is excellent at making this sort of thing. I am really looking forward to it!

Don't know what I'm eating yet, but I'm going to be eating it overlooking Jackson Lake in Grand Teton NP, so I'm sure it will be delicious
