I have had Denny's twice, for lunch. I was a nurse and had to go to work evening shift. It was a nice lunch and I was perfectly happy with the food. It was better than no holiday dinner at all.
In more recent years twice I have ordered a Turkey dinner from Buca di Beppo's. You get turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegtable and gravy and I ordered 2 sides of their regular menu pasta and meat offerings. Excellent choice!
I have not heard about Denny’s, but I’ve heard Cracker Barrel is very good.
There’s a bar in Hilton Head that makes thanksgiving dinner every Thursday.
This brought back memories of when I was 19 years old and hitch hiking across the U.S and had a can of Dinty Moore stew for my Thanksgiving dinner.
Right out of the can at room temperature and it tasted great because I was hungry and thankful that I had something to eat.

I've done Thanksgiving at Cracker Barrel several time and they have a Thanksgiving dinner that is pretty good.
I worked a patrol car every Thanksgiving Day for 40 years straight. Not having a family to go home to after my shift was over, I'd hit up Denny's or any other restaurant on my beat that was open for a traditional Turkey meal. I can't ever remember being disappointed. In my later years, I worked Skid Row and had my Thanksgiving meal with the less fortunate. I was always warmly welcomed.
We get prepared dinners from the supermarket at the food shelf where I volunteer. Today there were a couple of "turkey dinners". I thought that was the most depressing thing I had seen in a long while. Imagine eating one of those by yourself on Thanksgiving.
