Rolling it out nationwide. I haven't seen any flavor except vanilla, but chocolate and strawberry sundaes are on the menu. Waffle cones are being tested at some locations.
I didnt notice if they are still serving that bloody awful Acai bowl.
IMO it’s evidence of a trend — the rejection of the pretense of “healthy” eating/living, and a move to a full-frontal lifestyle of convenience and fast foods.

Could be evidence of another trend; foregoing any semblance of "service", and getting the customer to do all the work. Self-check-out, for example.

I'm ticked-off that they got rid of the Vanilla Frozen Yogurt.
When I tell a food court worker that I dislike that they got rid of the Frozen Yogurt at whatever Costco I'm at, they tell me to contact corporate. I tell them my voice will mean nothing as it'll go in one ear if that and not register.
Those new ice cream offerings are more money by a good margin verses the Vanilla Frozen Yogurt - not good for anyone who pays $60.00 - up plus tax for their membership IMO.
According to The Wall Street Journal (via Thrillist), it's no easy matter to clean those machines thoroughly — and that's why they always seem to be down. Cleaning a McFlurry machine is an 11-step process that, when done properly, includes a 4-hour heat-cleaning cycle. That's not counting the time it takes to run the other steps, prep the machine for cleaning, and get them up and running again. Here's the thing — McDonald's knows how difficult they are to clean, and they promised in early 2017 the machines would be replaced. FoodBeast revisited the issue eight months later, and nothing had changed.
