Fry up a bunch of chicken legs. If he likes them. They're great cold (cool), my sister used to cook up a bunch to sneak into the theater......"beats the sprinkle cheese out of popcorn". People around you tryin' to locate that enticing odor in the dark is a show of it's own
Today my "soup" container was full of cottage cheese (ate it for breakfast),
the biggest container has leftover fried rice chock full of meat and other goodies, the next container has a sliced orange, and the smallest container has strips of red and green bell pepper that I am going to eat with salad dressing.
I purposely make meals that make good leftovers because this little lunch jar can hold anything. Other days I've brought soup, spinach salad, fruit, and filled one of the smaller containers with cheese and a few nuts.
I think another good lunch would be a "Grown-up Lunchable" or antipasti platter -- pack some crackers with an assortment of high-quality salami or other cold cuts and a couple kinds of cheese. Add in some olives and/or artichoke hearts and some homemade marinated mushrooms and I might come over and eat his lunch.
my husband is sick of sandwiches and can't always get to a microwave... any ideas?
If he can get to a kettle - or take hot water in a thermos - then the intant noodle and pasta boxes are OK, but check the labels for sodium and MSG, some are much better than others!
There were some great ideas posted here just a while ago...
So people have talked about the Mr. Bento lunchbox in that other thread and here.
The real winner link is this Flickr pool of photos where people post what they take to lunch in their Mr. Bento lunchboxes. Over 5,000 pictures for your lunch inspiration!

I'm getting myself all hungry for it and have just asked for a Mr. Bento lunchbox for Christmas.
I caved. I could not wait until Christmas. I bought my Mr. Bento on Amazon last week, and had it by Saturday (even with free Super Saver shipping!)
I really like it. I packed my lunch in it today and am finding that it really holds a lot of food. I might not be able to finish it all in a workday. My husband really loved my Mr. Bento, so I will keep eating from it for a few weeks and if I find it's consistently too much food, I plan on buying myself a Ms. Bento (3 containers instead of 4) and giving him the Mr.
BTW, I couldn't justify spending so much out of pocket on a glorified lunch box, so I ended up grabbing my spare change jar and going to a CoinStar where I got $46 in an Amazon.com gift certificate from my coins. So it was only about $5 after that!
