My Big Lots will occasionally get a shipment of the Nestle Coffeemate dry creamer - the 2.2 pond size that regular stores price anywhere from 4.99 to 6.99

Big Lots sells them for 1.50!
I buy all they have on the shelf
That's the best thing to do!! Rack up on the savings!
Yesterday I bought 2 cans of Tunafish at Big Lots, they were cheaper than even Walmart. Everything was the same. Perfectly fine to get food from those stores.
If you are a fan of pommegranite, check out the dollar stores soon! I am starting to see lots of pom flavored products trickle in, leftovers from the recent "pom boom".
Unrelated, but Big Lots recently had a bunch of the big .99 cent Arizona tea cans on sale for .75! Not a huge savings, but you never see those on sale around here.
They had Nestles chocolate powder awhile back, (Big Lots), can't remember the price now, but it was so good I bought 8 of them. Just be careful, some stuff is cheaper at WalMart.
The shake 'em up drink powders
Juice boxes for my daughter
Hot cocoa
A ton of seasonings, especially the grinders they started carrying about a year ago
Cereal
Potato chips
Fruit rollups
Mustard, "worcester sauce", and soy sauce.
Microwave popcorn
I used to buy from their freezer section. My daughters both loved the pizza rolls, cheese sticks, and chicken nuggets but the 2 Dollar Tree stores closest to us now don't have a freezer section.
Eta, I 've also bought Sargento cheese and popsicles/ice cream from there, too.

I don't differentiate between dollar stores & dollar tree. I buy candy there - really good deals for Good 'n' Plenty & Red Hots. And I usually buy office supply stuff I don't really need. Sometimes there are things like antibacterial things or first aid things that I pick up, also.
I'm a bit leary of the food, although I give it a brief look over.
Dollar General has this store brand of stuff (Clover Valley, maybe?) that makes these knock off girl scout cookies and they are so good! In a blind taste test I don't think I'd be able to tell the difference. You can't miss them, the box even looks like the GS cookie box. Year round, for $2.

Yes, Dollar General's store brand is "Clover Valley". In my opinion it's just as good as regular name brand foods.
Comparison shopping is key. For instance, Walmart has a better price on hangers. Sometimes the same item elsewhere for $2 is more durable--desk organizers, etc.
