I live in Thornton, and on the map it's closer to Ft. Collins than it is to Denver I'm pretty sure.

What do people do around here?

We usually learn how to read a map better, Fort Collins is about 40 minutes to Thornton, as for what people do they actually go downtown denver, go to local bars, they go to the mountains, they hike, swim, bike, and any number of things.

From extreme northern Thornton (I-25 & C-470) it is about 45 miles to Ft. Collins. From that same point, it is only about 20 miles to downtown Denver.

People do whatever interests them. As long as what you want to do doesn't require an ocean or other large body of water, you can probably do it here.

My sister lives in Thornton. I'm in Old Town, Fort Collins. It usually takes me 45 minutes to get from my house to hers. But it takes me time to get to the highway from my house. And it takes times to get from the highway to her house. So if you're just talking about the furthest south part of the highway near Fort Collins to the furthest north part of the highway near Thornton, you could probably get it down closer to 20 minutes. I think 20 minutes is still shorter than it would actually take, though.
