I was out at the Broward Center for Performing Arts the other night and took some pictures... Noticed a new crane and something is going up there.

Is this a new condo building?

Parking garage.
Remember the old one collapsed for no reason.

Yes, the New River Yacht Club.

The parking garage that collapsed was further south. At the time, it was being demolished so the new Broward County Courthouse could be built on its site. In fact, the two cranes building it can be seen in the OP's photo to the right of the New River Yacht Club project.

I drove by there recently and it looks like at least 2 structures are going up a block or two apart. One appears to be a condo building and the other? Must be a parking garage like the others said.

Doesn't make much sense to me.

It's residential.

The structure north of the river is a 'high end' rental building and the construction south of the river is the new courthouse facility. The rental building makes perfect sense as much of the downtown rental inventory was converted to condos during the real estate boom.
