Hey guys, I have an upcoming business meeting close to the Museum of Discovery and Science. I will be flying in from New York City and arriving at Ft. Lauderdale Hollywood Airport in the first week of January. What hotels do you recommend and do you think I should use Uber instead of a car rental? I'm reading reviews for the car rental companies and they seem like a major headache.

Thanks in advance for your help.

What's your budget? I have stayed at the Hyatt Place near the airport. Roomy, clean, good free breakfast. Convenient location for you.

When I'm in town for business I have always driven down so I have my own car. My husband comes with me and when he wants a car he uses Budget. No complaints,

It's being paid for by the company. I would prefer to drive but I don't want to deal with the BS from the rental companies. (The reviews on Yelp have been shocking to say the least). Hopefully I can find an hotel within a mile or 2 of the general area. I would use Uber to get from the airport and to my destination.

Use Silvercar, they only rent Silver Audi A4's and as a first time renter you can get deals. They are off site from the airport and you literally pick your car up with a smart phone scan.

Embassy Suites Hotel on 17th Street is pretty nice, we have had a number of friends stay there and they all were very happy with their stay.
As for car rentals, they have some right in the airport, so easy to get and easy to drop off.

I will consider them as their reviews seems semi-decent. However, people are telling me not to rent because I won't be there for 3 years. Is Uber very reliable down there?

I will check them out. What about the reliability of Uber?

Friends here use Uber all the time to and from the airport so that might work also if you do not need a car for much else and 17th street has lots of restaurants and stores all over it to keep you in food and other needs.
