I will be moving to the area next week and was wondering if anyone knows of any fun stuff to do with school age children in the community for Halloween this year? They don't like haunted houses and I prefer not to trick-or-treat door to door because we don't know anyone there yet. Seems like Sarasota is having alot of activites so just wondered what was going on in this part of FL. I would appreciate any help!

There is a train ride where you paint pumpkins.......off of Colonial Blvd. Lakes Park usually has something, but I haven't seen any advertisements this year. Many area churches are having Family Fall festivals.....games for children and candy, but no scary costumes. Can get you the name of a few if you would like them. Have seen other things advertised, just can't remember them.

Bradenton has an awesome pumpkin patch with hayrides and a corn maze at Hunsander Farms.

Also, in Cape Coral, there are a lot of Trunk-or-Treats... same thing as regular trick or treating except that it is usually held at a church or a school and sponsored by policeman. You go car-to-car.

Also, Mike Greenwells has a big Trick-or-Treat thing on their miniature golf course!

Lakes Park is holding a "pumpkin patch and hayride"... and my hayride I mean there is some hay in a trailer attached to a riding lawnmower! It's every Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m.
