Hey guys! I'm flying into Fort Worth next Sunday for a job and was wondering if anyone had any tips for a 2 day stay? I'm only 20 and this will be my first time traveling a long distance from home (I'm from GA) and the first time I'll be in Texas as well.

I know this is pretty short stay but is there anything I should do before I leave that's close to my hotel (Courtyard Fort Worth Fossil Creek)? Also is Fort Worth pretty safe?

Thanks for any tips and help!

Fort Worth is like any major city in that some parts are very safe, and others are not. I will say that the parts of town that attract tourists are very safe: Stockyards and downtown/West 7th.

Unfortunately, Fossil Creek is mostly a business area with a few chain restaurants and shopping. It's pretty boring.

If you can, drive to Dallas and go to the State Fair. State Fair of Texas It's a lot of fun, even by yourself, and is a great day!

There's nothing interesting in the immediate area around the hotel. If you can make it to downtown Fort Worth, I would recommend walking around Sundance Square.

Thanks for the suggestion and advice guys! I talked with some other people and they recommended to use Uber if I wanted to get to downtown. I've never used them before are there anything I should know before hand?

I've used Uber from downtown to SW Fort Worth and it was fine, no issues but I was with 2 other girls. I am not sure I would want to use it by myself but I'll let someone else chime in on that.

Downtown and 7th Street, imo, is safe. I also like Magnolia Ave. but some people might have different opinions on that. I have never felt uncomfortable walking around, plus there are usually a lot of people which makes it easier.
