Are there any new homes in Euless, bedford, hurst (Midcities) area under mid $200,000's . So far I've seen homes build in early 2000's going for 200,000 or more in these area which is disappointing. There are a few that have come down on prices . However, when I look into new homes in these areas they seem to be starting high 200's to 300's even 400's !!!

I don't know of any new homes in the Hurst area for under 200K. The new development that went up on a hill just North of us is all new homes and I don't think the lowest goes for under 400K.

Land values in these cities are too high to build inexpensive homes. Plus, many of these cities are at or near build-out, so there isn't much land to build new homes. If you'd consider an existing home, there are LOTS in your price range, and you'll probably get a lot more for your $ since existing home sales are SO down right now.

Agreed. And the older homes are built much better.

to me this is part of why the housing situation got so bad. Everyone WANTS a "new" home. no-one wants an existing home and to put sweat equity in it etc...

Yep. Our house in Grapevine was built in 1989, and it has all of the cool updates (tile floors, granite, no wallpaper, nice trees, etc.) and we got it for UNDER $200k including closing costs! Our neighborhood is well-established and the schools are good. And, most importantly, we have a good foundation under our house! No need for a new home, and since there is no available residential-zoned land left in Grapevine, no place to put one!

There is a new subdivision for single family homes in Hurst. They have no inventory homes but they do have a model to show. You can get a nice one or two story for under $200K. Why live North of work instead of South? if you go south on 360 a few miles south of 20, there are plenty of new houses under 200k. Techincally it may still be Arlington... maybe Mansfield... but there are some real nice areas.
