Hi all,

We're considering looking for an apartment in downtown Fort Worth. Looking for just a building, such as a renovated historic building (not an "apartment community" with pool, social activities, etc).

This is what I glean from the internet. Am I right or wrong?

1) In Fort Worth, downtown is the main walkable area - outside downtown is not so walkable. (Is Stockyards an exception?)

2) Difficult or impossible to find a 2-bedroom apt. rental downtown for under $1400 in a decent building. Lower rents tend to be outside downtown, on the other side of one of the freeways (less walkable and less safe?)

Thanks for any opinions.

there are areas of FTW that are walkable if you mean to shopping/retail/restaurants
but you have to be close to downtown to walk there...

Firestone is apt complex at end of downtown in FTW--

Sanger Lofts managed by Sundance Mgmt office
Sundance Square
but they are too expensive

Electric Bldg--2 bdrm start at 1150 a month according to web site
The Historic Electric Building Apartments (http://www.hebuilding.com/modules/web/index.php/id/2 - broken link)

Hillside Apts on north side of downtown--further from action but checking Google maps gives lots of positive reviews

Heard a lot of good things about Hillside Apts on north/east side of downtown. Worth checking it out...
