Hi! My husband and I are considering a move from Ramsey, NJ to Ft. Worth/Aledo, TX. We have three children (about to be 4, 6 and 8). I am very concerned about uprooting our children and moving to an area I know nothing about. My oldest was Montessori-educated until first grade (at which time I put him in public school) and my youngest 2 are currently in Montessori (pre-school and kindergarten). Does anyone have any info on the schools in Aledo as well as the community? Ours is very tight-knit and I love it. I am just wondering if it will take me years to get to "that place" in Aledo. We moved here from Chicago 5 years ago, but our children were babies then. And we are very outgoing people, but I don't know what Aledo is like. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Juliette

Default Coming to Aledo

Hello, my name is Jim Thorp and have lived in Aledo, TX all of my life which to date is 47 years. I am also the county treasurer and was first elected to that position in 1995. Please rest assured that a move to Aledo would be a great move. The schools are some of the best available. We are a very close community. Our football team won the 4a state championship this season (2009). My wife teaches 4th grade at Stuard elementary here in Aledo. The school district is a leadership model school for the Stephen Covey's seven habits program.

I wish you luck in your decision and please don't hesitate to contact me for any other information about the area that you maybe interested.

Jim
